Computing technology has revolutionized the way we learn, and with online learning environments, learners now have access to a range of learning resources supplemented by concrete artefacts such as visualisations and simulations that relate more closely to their real-world experience. In this era, the role of the teacher has become more critical than ever, and that is where our project comes in.
Our project aims to promote using appropriate educational tools as a new practice that promises to integrate and bring coherence to the dual perspectives on distance learning and digital learning. One of the primary objectives of our project is to develop the digital competences of teachers, including information and data literacy, digital content creation, communication and collaboration, safety, and problem-solving. In this blog post, we will discuss the importance of digital competence for teachers and how our project addresses this need.
The rapid pace of technological development requires teachers to have a good understanding of digital technologies and be able to use them effectively. Digital competence involves much more than just basic computer skills; it encompasses a range of skills and knowledge, including the ability to evaluate digital content, use digital tools for communication and collaboration, and teach others how to use digital technologies effectively.
Our project offers a range of training activities to help teachers develop their digital competences, including e-learning courses, lesson plans, and interactive resources. By developing their digital competences, teachers will be better equipped to use digital technologies in their teaching and help students learn more effectively.
