OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG
OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG is a small elementary school founded in 1872 which is based on the principles of Grundtvig and Kold. School is situated in Ptuj, the oldest city in Slovenia. We have 285 students aged 6-14 study and 34 teachers work in the school. It is a school with Slovenian language of instruction.
OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG is particularly well equipped to undertake this project as it is equipped with excellent ICT hardware throughout a school. Children are very competent and proficient in the use of modern technology. All students have extracurricular activities during the year. The final-year students go on international exchanges.
OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG prides themselves on their appreciation of and commitment to the arts and to music. Their school orchestra and choir perform regularly at school events and in the area.
OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG offers special care for students who have special needs. All students are tested during the first year and receive the necessary help throughout their school careers. The school places a strong emphasis on personalised learning. Most of our teachers work within a team of colleagues specialised in a specific part of the school organisation. In the school, the emphasis is put on the development of individual aptitude and interests of the students. For this purpose They offer a wide range of elective subjects: Tourism Education, Sport for Health, Sport for release, Chosen sport – football, Experiments in chemistry, Modern food preparation, ICT and Multimedia, Stars and Space, Rhetoric, embroidery etc. They have very active and creative students

The school’s population consists of minority groups of the student with learning and behavioural deficits and also many talented students. For this project will be a perfect opportunity to develop students specific skills. There is a special kind of robots, VEXIQ robots, which are well adjusted to children's developing level. The role of the school's organization at the project is to provide resources and to support a successful project. The Headmaster of OSNOVNA ŠOLA BREG has promised his full support and shown an interest in this kind of a project. Also, Ptuj as a municipality supports their school's European contacts. Also Ptuj municipal educational administration gives it full support to the teaching of Robotics and international project related to it. The teaching of robotics has very important status at the municipality. The school has profiled itself as a leading school concerning pedagogics of Robotics. The school and its staff have a lot of experience with special needs students and dealing with learning difficulties. Robotics can play a part when helping the student to learn. There are also some migrant students from outside European Union who need extra support in their language learning. Ptuj has a great reputation for having a minimum amount of student who dropout secondary school.

The aims of the school are the following
- First, to prepare pupils in order to be admitted to High school.
- Second, to offer intercultural education teaching cooperation and tolerance between people of different cultures and origin. The pupils of school could be characterised by participants with specific needs for multiple reasons.
